This is a reminder to you that Seeds of Datura are BLACK METAL AF!
This is a collection of the earliest multitrack recordings from the Seeds of Datura from late 2016 recorded at the Realm of Mist Studio, Kenya.
The band had only been founded earlier that year and had been busy with rehearsing and writing. The idea of recording had not surfaced until the band made a few unofficial live recordings with the multi-track setup. "Nime Rise" and "3am Black" are likely the first mutli-track recordings the band made. The decision to officially record 2 singles "Wonderland" and "No Child" was made in September 2016 and the entire main room of the studio was converted to fit the drums, guitars and bass. Vocals were dubbed over after the instruments tracks were cut live.
The formative style of the Seeds of Datura was Black Metal, but starting out for the first time as a band they also had to cut their teeth on some pop standards which brought forth some interesting divergences (i.e. Nime Rise) on the Burzumish style of the bands formative style.
"Curse These Metal Hands" parlays the UK bands' chemistry into a record which—for all its tinnitus-inducing ferocity and elegiac arrangements—practically drips with transcendent joy. Bandcamp Album of the Day Aug 18, 2019
